Kathleen Ganley is a former labour and employment lawyer who ran for and won her first election as an NDP MLA in 2015 and was re-elected in 2019. Born in Edmonton and raised in Calgary, Ganley’s degrees from the University of Calgary include a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and a bachelor of science in psychology, as well as a law degree. Ganley and her husband live in Calgary with their daughter, who was born during Ganley’s time as Solicitor General for Alberta in 2017. Ganley was also the Minister of Justice during the 29th Assembly.
