Devinder Toor (UCP)
This page's information comes from Expense Disclosure Reports filed by MLAs, detailing the expenses that they've incurred that have been paid by the taxpayer. Some expense categories have budgets, while others do not. For example, starting in 2016 MLAs who don't live in Edmonton get up to $23,160 a year to pay for somewhere to live in Edmonton - MLAs are not required to spend the maximum (or a minimum, for that matter) in these cases. As well, some budgets vary among MLAs - notably, the "Constituency Travel" expenses. MLAs with larger constituencies have a larger allowance of kilometers (as high as 80,000 km a year) while MLAs with smaller constituencies have a smaller allowance (as low as 35,000 km a year). This page includes charts for both the 29th and 30th Assemblies; if your MLA was first elected between 2015 and 2019, then they will also have a record of their spending for that session.
The APAH is working hard to develop pages that break down the individual expenses within the categories for MLAs, but those pages are still in progress - however, if you would like to know how much your MLA is spending on a specific category, broken down by year and quarter, go back to your MLA's page on this site, click "Contact", then "Website" and then click on "Expense Disclosure Reports" to see a more in-depth breakdown.
