Mark Smith is a former teacher born in Saskatchewan who was first elected as a Wildrose MLA in 2015. In 2017, he joined the rest of his caucus in merging with the Progressive Conservatives and joining the United Conservative Party, for which he served as the Education Critic. In 2019, he was re-elected to the Legislature as a member of the UCP. In addition to his thirty years as a social studies teacher, he's also delivered sermons at a local church.
